SELL CRAFTS ON ETSY

There are lots of ways to convert your handmade goods into cash but Etsy is probably one of the best. If you aren't familiar with Etsy, it is "an online marketplace for buying & selling all things handmade." According to their site, their mission is "to enable people to make a living making things, and to reconnect makers with buyers." In other words, they make it easy for you to sell your handmade crafts, jewelry, art, clothing, and more. If you are a musician you can even sell your CDs there.

What I like best about Etsy is that it is a lot classier than similar sites, such as eBay. They have rules about what can and cannot be sold there so it isn't littered with junk like at some other sites. The pictures people use are a lot better too so if you want to compete there, you'll have to work on your photo skills a bit.

The fees are extremely low. There is a 20 cent fee per item (regardless of price) and your listings are good for four months. When your item sells, there is an additional 3.5% fee. You also get an easy-to-use Etsy shop at no extra cost so that is pretty cool too.

Overall I really like Etsy because it is such a warm, friendly site and it is a far cry from the sterile commercialism you see elsewhere.
