Imagine a job where you do nothing for 10 years and then suddenly you are able to cash in to the tune of $500 to $2500 (or more). Not bad, huh? Okay, so it doesn't pay much per hour but selling your hair is still a pretty good gig.

To get the best price, your hair needs to be untouched by chemicals. No dyes, no perms, nothing like that. You should also grow it out as long as you can stand it and whatever you do, don't over-wash it or blow dry it. You should also avoid cigarette smoke and of course you should not use drugs.

How much money can you make? I've seen plenty of people earn between $500 and $2500 for hair that (to me at least) looked pretty ordinary. In fact, I just saw one lady who got $2600 for hers. If you are willing to go lower, say $250 or so, you can expect to sell your hair much quicker but really you are better off to hold out for more.

The Hair Trader - This is probably the best known place to sell your hair.

Hairwork.com - This site is sort of disorganized but if you take the time to get it figured out, it looks like your chances of making a sale are pretty good.

Online Hair Affair - This is an online hair auction which looks really promising.

Hair Buyer - The people who own this site buy hair to make hair extensions. You have to email them a photo to get a quote but that is easy enough. From the looks of it, this would be a great place to make a quick sale.
