A long time ago I worked at a little store in a strip mall. Every few weeks a guy with a bucket and a long-handled squeegee would show up and offer to clean the windows for $10. We always accepted the offer because the windows were huge and it was hard to clean them without a lot of screwing around. But this guy had it down and he could do a great job in about 10 minutes.

One day I asked him how much money he made and he smiled and said he did okay. I pressed him a little (we were on friendly terms) and he told me that he did between $100 and $300 a day. Not bad.

His business was very simple and you could easily duplicate it. Like I said, he just took a bucket and a squeegee (you can buy everything you need at janitor supply stores) and went door-to-door to strip malls all day. It's pretty ingenious if you think about it because there is no shortage of strip malls and $10 isn't exactly a hard sell so getting customers is pretty easy. This would also work in traditional main street businesses too so don't limit yourself.

Before you go out soliciting, however, make sure that whatever town you're in doesn't have some dumb law about it. Chances are nobody would care anyway but it's probably not worth the ticket.
